Each Prerelease Kit is enough to support 10 players. Prerelease Kit allocation is determined by the average number of players reported during the two most recent Prerelease events plus one kit to account for growth.
For example, if a League reports 30 players for an event in January and 40 players for an event in May, then its next allocation would be based on the average of those two counts: 35 players. As a result, the League would be eligible for four kits, plus the additional kit to account for growth for a total of five kits.
Unreported Prerelease events count as zero when determining the next allocation. For example, if a League reports 40 players for an event in January, and the League does not report for the following Prerelease, then the allocation for the next Prerelease would be based on the average of those two counts: 20 players. As a result, the League would be eligible for two kits, plus the additional kit to account for growth for a total of three kits.
First Prerelease?
For a League’s first Prerelease event, they will receive a base allocation of two Prerelease Kits, which is enough for 20 players. Future allocation may increase depending on reporting.
To maintain Prerelease Kit allocation or to grow allocation, ensure that Prerelease events are sanctioned and completed in Tournament Operations Manager (TOM) and Play! Tools.
