What are Play! Pokémon Prize Packs?

Play! Pokémon Prize Packs are exclusive Pokémon Trading Card Game booster packs that contain six cards featuring the Play! Pokémon logo—all of which are legal in the Standard format (for the most recent series). Check out the Prize Pack Card Gallery for a full list of cards from each Prize Pack series.

As a player, how can I obtain Prize Packs?

Prize Packs can be obtained by attending official events hosted at eligible Play! Pokémon Stores in your area. Use the Event Locator to find an event close to you. Please note that Prize Packs are available while supplies last.

When will my store receive Prize Packs?

Prize Pack eligibility is based on regular reporting and dependent on remaining in good standing with the Play! Pokémon program. Stores that are new to the program and don’t have sufficient participation history will receive 100 Prize Packs.

Prize Pack distribution schedule

Prize Packs are sent every three months, with a new series launching every six months (in January and July). Below are the months when stores can expect to receive Prize Packs, along with the review periods used to determine allocations (shown in parentheses). For example, your July Prize Pack allocation is based on reporting from February, March, and April.

• January (review period: August–October)
• April (review period: November–January)
• July (review period: February–April)
• October (review period: May–July)

How can I increase my store’s Prize Pack allocation?

Attract more players to your store, host more events, and be sure to report accurately. Because the number of Prize Packs allocated to each eligible store depends on reported attendance for certain events, there are several ways to increase the allocation:

• Host Play! Sessions or Friendly Tournaments every week.
• Host both a Friendly Tournament and a Play! Session on separate days every week.
• Attract new players to your weekly Play! Session or Friendly Tournament.
• Host League Challenges and League Cups, or Mid-Year Celebration events during the Championship Series pause in June, July, and August.

Attendance for Prerelease tournaments and special events such as Pokémon Day or Worlds Celebration is not considered for Prize Pack allocation.

How can I distribute Prize Packs at my store?

Prize Packs are intended to incentivize attendance at events and reward players for participating in activities hosted at eligible Play! Pokémon Stores. You may distribute Prize Packs at your own discretion, as long as they are not sold, used as compensation for Professors or League Assistants, or used as sales incentives.

Below are some methods used to manage Prize Pack allocation throughout a quarter:

• Award 1 Prize Pack to each player attending a Play! Session (once per week).
• Award 1 Prize Pack to each player attending a Friendly Tournament (once per week).
• Award 1 Prize Pack to each player attending a Pokémon TCG League Cup or Challenge, with additional prizing for top finishers in each age division (two for first place and one for second).
• Award 1 Prize Pack to a player who demonstrates behavior that positively impacts the community (once per week), such as bringing a player to their first Play! Pokémon event, helping to teach a new player, or assisting with event cleanup.
